Version 2.5.0 Oct 8, 2026

Hardware timers, better time trials, and a steadier race clock.

  • NEW — Summit hardware timer (beta)
    • Connect a Summit timer over Bluetooth and bring its times straight into the race
    • See how far the hardware timer is from the race clock
  • IMPROVED — Team Time Trials
    • Build time trial start lists on nordicracetrace.com and load them in the app
    • Guests can race a time trial and keep their result
    • Edit a trial's name, date, distance and course, or one occasion in a recurring series
    • Finish with one clear choice: Save or Discard
  • IMPROVED — Race Timing
    • FIS start-sequence audio
    • Tied times are ranked as ties everywhere
    • The screen stays on while a race is running
    • A warning if the phone's clock changes mid-race, carried through to results
    • A notice when times are not reaching the server
    • Discarding a race now asks first
  • Plus — one simpler Import menu, DNS/DNF/DSQ on the results page, updated user guides, and many fixes

Version 2.4.4 Oct 1, 2026

  • IMPROVED — Team Time Trials
    • In Accurate mode, Impulse is now a full-width bar across the bottom of the screen — about ten times the target it was
    • Accurate mode works the way it reads: press Impulse as each athlete finishes, then tap a name to assign the time. Names stay greyed out until a time is waiting, so a stray tap can’t record a time
    • The “?” button marks a finish you can’t identify, shown as “Unknown”
    • Timing by name without bibs? Assign an unidentified finish by picking the athlete from your roster
    • The app remembers whether you last timed in Simple or Accurate mode
    • Rebuilt timing pad on iPad, from iPad mini to 13-inch Pro, and larger name buttons on small iPhones
  • Timing
    • A much larger running race clock on a phone; past an hour it drops tenths so a long race still fits
    • The number pad shows the bib number alongside the athlete’s name
    • The Pre-Start clock shows the time you’re typing above the keypad
  • Fixed — switching between Race Timing, Split Timing and Team Time Trials

Version 2.4.2 Sep 24, 2026

  • NEW — Split Timing insights
    • Key Insights tells you whether a skier is gaining or losing places, measured against the skiers who had actually come past
    • When a skier moves up, it names the racer they caught
    • Fewer, clearer insights — duplicate lines are gone
  • NEW — Team Time Trial on multiple phones
    • One phone counts down the start order so interval starts go off on time; the others time skiers coming in
    • Each phone joins in one tap and shares the athletes, start times and running clock
    • Each phone saves its own results to your team — none can overwrite another’s
    • Out of cell range? Results stay safe on the phone, ready to upload later from Results
  • Start lists
    • Photograph a printed start list, one page at a time — later pages add to the racers you already have
    • Import from a file, a paste, or a saved trial; names not on your roster are flagged so you can fix them, add them, or time them as a guest
    • Per-athlete start times, including pursuit starts based on an earlier trial
    • With one team, Team Time Trial goes straight to your current roster
    • Upload a roster by CSV on the website
  • Timing
    • The live start order shows who has gone and counts down to the next starter
    • Switch between the start order and your recorded times mid-race
  • Training logs (web)
    • Excel and CSV downloads total daily, weekly and season hours
    • Analytics charts show the full season
    • Athletes get an end-of-day email when a coach comments on their log
  • Fixes
    • The second phone’s clock did not start in a Team Time Trial
    • The Pre-Start clock would not accept two-digit minutes or seconds
    • Timing pad buttons ran off the bottom of the screen on an iPad mini
    • Time trials could save with no results when the start list included guests or new athletes
    • A loaded start list now says nothing is timing yet, and where to start
    • Your coach account is now at the top of Settings

Version 2.4.0 Sep 11, 2026

Import a start list from a photo.

Point your camera at a printed start list — the sheet taped up in the lodge or a page on a screen — and NordicRaceTrace reads the bibs, names, clubs, classes and start times. Review the rows, then time the race. Needs an internet connection, so do it before you reach the trailhead if coverage is spotty.

  • Fixed — the number pad and Bib Press grid no longer run off the bottom of smaller iPhones; the Enter key is reachable again
  • Better start list conversion on nordicracetrace.com — more timing sites recognized, multi-race documents split into separate races, Nordic characters preserved

Version 2.3.0 Aug 6, 2026

  • NEW — Publish results
    • Publish results to the web at the end of a race — no need to turn on Live Sharing first. You get a shareable link and event code
    • Open a published race on the web straight from Events
    • Publish Split Timing sessions to your team page
    • Saved results in Events are listed newest first
  • Fixes
    • Saved results showed incorrect finish times when reopened from Events
    • Mass start races finished in the wrong order, sometimes with negative times
    • Published results showed 00:00.0 for the winner
    • Split Timing could get stuck after viewing a saved result
    • Team Time Trial times could be lost when stopping without being signed in
    • Stopping or resetting a race now fully clears the timer
    • Removed the co-timer option from Split Timing, where it didn’t apply

Version 2.2.0 Aug 1, 2026

Bug fixes, smoother saving and editing of timed races, and the ability to set start times.

Version 2.1.0 Jul 14, 2026

  • Crash protection — your race survives a force quit or crash; reopen the app and the clock, times and start list pick up where they were
  • New Pre-Start button — race setup is separate from starting the clock, so you can’t start a race by accident
  • Remove a start list — drop a loaded start list and keep timing without one
  • Mass and wave starts show how many athletes share the first start time
  • Fixed — times recorded from the Results screen now match the Timer screen in Time of Day mode
