Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
NordicRaceTrace ("we", "us") provides race timing tools for Nordic ski coaches via the NordicRaceTrace iOS app and the website at nordicracetrace.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this policy is for
NordicRaceTrace is designed for use by adult coaches and race organizers. Coaches enter team roster information about their athletes (who are often minors) in order to time races and track results. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under the age of 13.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information (when you sign in)
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store:
| Field | Source | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Google or Apple profile | Display in the app and on results pages |
| Email address | Google or Apple (may be a private-relay address if you used "Hide My Email") | Account identification and account-related communication |
| Profile picture URL | Google profile (Apple does not provide one) | Display in the app |
| Stable user identifier | Google or Apple sub claim | Linking your sessions to your account |
We do not receive your password, your contacts, your location, or any other Google/Apple account data.
b. Information you enter as a coach
- Team and roster data: team names, athlete first and last names, gender, and (optional) graduation year or year of birth.
- Race and event data: event names, dates, bib numbers, start times, finish times, splits, and notes you record while timing.
- Time trial and training log entries: workout dates, durations, distances, comments, and any data you choose to enter for athletes on your roster.
- Public-page settings: optional URL slug and display name for your team or club results page.
c. Technical information
- Standard server logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, user-agent) are retained temporarily for diagnosing problems and preventing abuse.
- A session cookie is set when you sign in on the website so you stay logged in.
d. Subscription information
In-app subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat. We receive only your subscription status (active / inactive) — not your payment information.
3. How we use information
- To create and maintain your coach account and let you sign in.
- To store the rosters, races, and results you enter so you can use them across devices and over time.
- To display public results pages (only when you choose to publish or share them).
- To verify your subscription status.
- To diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites. NordicRaceTrace does not include third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
4. Sharing of information
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the app:
- Google and Apple: identity verification when you sign in.
- RevenueCat and Apple App Store: subscription management and payment processing.
- Our hosting provider (AWS): stores the database and serves the website.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Race results, athlete names, and time trials are private to your team by default. They become publicly viewable only when you actively choose to publish a live results link, share a results link, or publish a Club Timed Race.
5. Data retention
- Account and roster data is retained as long as your account exists.
- Unfinalized events with no recent activity are automatically deleted after 7 days.
- You can permanently delete your account at any time (see section 7).
6. Children's data
Coaches enter the names and basic information of athletes on their teams. Many of these athletes are minors. We treat this information as personal data and apply the same protections described in this policy. If you are a parent or guardian and you would like a child's information removed from a team roster, contact the coach who manages that team, or contact us directly (see section 9) and we will work with the coach to remove it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights — including account deletion
You can permanently delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time:
- In the iOS app: Settings → Coach Account → Delete Account.
- By email: send a request from the email address on your account to cotepat@gmail.com and we will process it within 7 days.
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile (name, email, sign-in identifiers, profile picture URL).
- Teams where you are the only coach, and all roster, athlete, time-trial, training-log, and race data attached to those teams.
- Races (events) you created.
Teams you share with other coaches are kept intact — only your membership is removed so the remaining coaches still have access. If you want such a team deleted entirely, transfer or remove the other coaches first.
Other rights
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at cotepat@gmail.com.
8. Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic, store identifiers from Google and Apple as opaque values, and limit access to the production database. No system is perfectly secure, but we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Contact

10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or website.
